More about: The Kooks
On their debut album Inside In/Inside Out, indie heroes The Kooks flirted with the idea of naivety, infatuation and falling in love at first sight, just like the fan favourite songs ‘Ooh La’, ‘She Moves In Her Own Way’ and ‘Naive’ echo to indie perfection. Now five bodies of work later and some serious growing up since their debut, the themes of their songs subject matters haven't changed one bit for The Kooks coming into the release of their self-made playlist 10 Tracks To Echo In The Dark, a collection of songs that aim to see the good in the world, despite the darkness it is sometimes engrossed in.

Flirting youthfully with styles hand picked straight out of ‘80s synth-pop to funky prog-rock, 10 Tracks To Echo In The Dark is full of futuristic imagery, flying through the air without a care in the world with a lover you just have an unbreakable connection with. Songs such as the breezy opener ‘Connection’ to the scintillating ‘Closer’ ooze with love-filled lyrics. Yet the album comes down from its infatuated euphoria for a couple of beats, with tracks like ‘Oasis’ and closer ‘Without A Doubt’ detailing vocalist Luke Pritchard’s insecurities as a singer and an individual in a relationship.
10 Tracks To Echo In The Dark does everything you would expect from classic The Kooks, all with a funky, quirky and still, a youthful glow about them, one that will have you floating on cloud nine the entire time.
