The Whip - 'Sister Siam'

The Whip - 'Sister Siam' Photo:

The latest single from The Whip, their third this year, follows much the same blueprint as previous releases, ‘Muzzle No.1’ and ‘Divebomb,’ opening with a pulsating synth beat, electronic beeps and spaced-out vocals. But that’s in no way a criticism. Quite the contrary in fact, because ‘Sister Siam’ is actually better than its excellent predecessors. Like the hyperactive lovechild of Gary Numan and Ian Curtis dressed up like Daft Punk, the track pounds and struts, beeping and buzzing with hypnotic satisfaction. Simply put, it confirms The Whip as one of the dance acts of the year. Resistance is futile.

Released 12/11/07 on Southern Fried.
