Kendrick Lamar is getting sued for a million dollars (£666,311) by a fan. A report from TMZ claims that Whitney Larkins paid $350 (£233) for a VIP package, which included backstage access, but was banned from the concert.
She says that tried to contact Lamar's manager, Dave Free, for "one-on-one time" with Lamar, and claims in the lawsuit that Free contacted her and said she could "get the 3 minutes for a cash payment of $10,000".
Larkins alleges that she "repeatedly tried to get more info from Lamar's team, which apparently ticked off someone." She finally received an email a day before the concert informing that she was banned from attending the show, and would be receiving a refund for the $350 VIP package.
Within the million dollar dispute, Larkins stated she expressed "deep sadness" over the situation and went on to describe Lamar's manager as "arrogant, snotty and an all-around bad dude from the rooter to the tooter!"
However, Larkins still supports Lamar, stating that he is "one of the greatest rappers alive of all time who is on par with Tupac." The rapper, who has just been nominated for 11 Grammy Awards, including Album of The Year for his third album To Pimp A Butterfly, and Song of the Year for 'Alright'.
Lamar has also been nominated for Best Rap Album, Rap Performance, Pop duo/Group Performance for 'Bad Blood' with Taylor Swift and Dance Recording for 'Never Catch Me' with Flying Lotus.
Lamar's complete domination of the nominations stands as "a testimony to his artistry," said Neil Portnow, head of the Recording Academy. "He's someone that's very serious about his art and about his craft, and has been working it for quite some time. And this is one of those instances where the work pays off."
Meanwhile, Lamar's manager Free has yet to comment on the situation.
