Billy Bragg - 'I Keep Faith'

Releasing another new album this year entitled 'Mr. Love & Justice', Billy Bragg is as regular with new material as custard having had studio album releases in every decade since the early 80's. Never short of a word or two to say on the political front, his finest performances materialised during the 80's with the 1984 Miners Strike and the ongoing hoo-ha that ensued between Kinnock and Thatcher.

'I Keep Faith'  is a track which remonstrates in well chosen lyrics of better times, features Ian McLagan of the Small Faces and Robert Wyatt formerly of the jazz infusion/ progressive rock band Soft Machine. A gently flowing piece of folk-rock led by a perky electric guitar melody, sequences from McLagan on Hammond organ and harmonious, choir-like vocals from Bragg and Wyatt provide clear evidence that Bragg's period of close collaboration with friends in the industry is paying off.

Released 17/03/08 on Cooking Vinyl.
