More about: Lily Allen
Lily Allen has premiered the video for her new single and title track of her upcoming album. Check out the video for 'Sheezus' below.
The video features some eerie day-glo effects cast across Allen's face as images and scribblings flash across the screen. It's a bit like a Warholian Avatar version of our Lily.
Allen has been quite outspoken and critical of her recent output, but it seems this is one of her preferred new tracks that she doesn't consider to be rubbish or 'beige'.
"I would have liked to see 'Sheezus' as a single, but it’s not up-tempo enough," she told Rolling Stone recently. "It’s also got the word 'period' in it, which is really offensive to people, even though half the world has to deal with it once a month. … I think that “period” is going to be my “surfboard” with Beyoncé. People will wear sweatshirts to my concerts that are just going to say 'period'."
The track also sees Allen namecheck her female rivals Beyoncé, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, and Lorde - featuring the lyric: "Lorde smells blood, yeah, she’s about to slay you / Kid ain’t one to fuck with when she’s only on her debut."
