A student has been investigating the state of mind of Beatles fans by reading all the graffiti scrawled on the walls outside Abbey Road Studios in London.

Emma Ewbank, 22 studied the messages left by fanatics visiting the Fab Four’s former studios using the science of graphology for her degree in graphic design.

Appearing amongst the top slogans are “all you need is love,” “help” and “let it be” apparently revealing that Beatles fans are imaginative, secretive, sensitive and attention seeking.

Speaking to the Daily Telegraph Ewbank said "I'm the first person to investigate the emotional state of fans who go to the trouble of visiting this shrine and leaving their own personal statement."

The Abbey Road Studios were immortalised on the Beatles' 'Abbey Road' album cover, showing the group on the pelican crossing outside.
