A YouTube video, which appears to feature the first new song in 30 years from the Nigerian singer William Onyeabor, has appeared online. Watch it below.
The enigmatic synth-funk musician became renowned in Nigeria in the '70s and '80s, releasing eight albums before abandoning music after becoming a born-again Christian.
Onyeabor refused to talk about his music for nearly 30 years, with various media outlets trying and failing to uncover his location, or more information about him. Despite this, his music became hugely popular in New York, and Onyeabor developed a cult following.
In December, the singer gave an extremely rare interview to 6 Music's Lauren Laverne, after the makers of the documentary Fantastic Man managed to track him down. Now a new track by the singer appears to have surfaced online.
The heavily gospel song, which has the aesthetics of a video filmed in the '90s, includes the lyrics, "You must do you best to be born again. Do it now. Do it now."

The video emerged on a YouTube channel called Divine Praise, but no other information has been released.
