Over the weekend, some U2 fans were surprised to open their Record Store Day purchases when they realised that their sealed Songs Of Innocence vinyls contained Tool EPs, instead.
The vinyl was meant to be U2's 2014 album Songs Of Innocence, released as part of this year's Record Store Day. However, Tool's 1992 Opiate EP was mistakenly inside many of the sleeves.
Tool have jokingly commented on the mix-up, writing on their Facebook: "NICE FREAKIN' TRY, U2... Some very lucky people who purchased U2's 'Songs Of Innocence' during a recent record store release found instead a copy of TOOL's 1992 'OPIATE' EP inside."
"As I mentioned on www.toolband.com, it kind of makes you believe in mysterious higher powers doesn't it... “
