Massive Attack's 3D has announced that he'll be releasing two separate remixes of 'The Right Stuff' by Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds on limited-edition vinyl. Listen to the first remix below.
The 12-inch vinyl is set for release on 31 July through Battle Box, the mixed-media project of 3D (real name Robert Del Naja).
The record's A-side remix replaces Gallagher's guitar with a minimalist, down-tempo drum beat and long, drawn out keyboard chords. At around the half-way point, the tempo picks up and what sounds like an electronic organ takes centre-stage. It's an effective pace-changer, but the remix's first half is more poignant.
Speaking of the project, Gallagher said: "I remember being at the Brits in ’95 and D offering to do a Massive Attack remix of [Oasis’] 'Cast No Shadow'. The idea was never followed through and it's something I've regretted ever since. It's nice to finally scratch the itch somewhat."

3D meanwhile, said of the remix, "It was a good opportunity to take a great song, slow it right down, remove the guitars and then scratch the clarinet backwards."
The limited-edition 12-inch vinyl will be released on 31 July. Pre-order it here.
