Katy Perry's Left Shark made a fleeting appearance during Taylor Swift's Massachusetts gig last night (27 July), continuing the ongoing feud between the pair.
Despite repeatedly stressing the importance of women supporting other women, Swift told Rolling Stone back in 2014 that 'Bad Blood', one of the tracks on her fifth album 1989, was about another female artist.
"For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not," she said. "She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, 'Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?'"
She continued, "[Then last year], she did something so horrible I was like, 'Oh, we're just straight-up enemies.' And it wasn't even about a guy! It had to do with business. She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me. And I'm surprisingly non-confrontational – you would not believe how much I hate conflict. So now I have to avoid her. It's awkward, and I don't like it."
Despite making it fairly clear, by refusing to ever discuss her, that this was in reference to Katy Perry, Swift never elaborated any more than that. Earlier this month, though, Perry broke her vow of relative silence on the matter to point out that Swift had "unmeasurably [sic] capitalized on the take-down of a woman."
Last night, in a blink and you'll miss it moment, Swift brought out the Left Shark that upstaged Katy Perry during the Super Bowl at a Massachusetts gig, turning round to face it as she sang, "If you live like that, you live with ghosts", before laughing as the shark disappeared again.

Earlier this week, Grizzly Bear's Edward Droste described Swift, after meeting her at an event, as "terribly calculated and mean."
