Courtney Barnett is set to perform the legendary Patti Smith album, Horses, in October at the Melbourne festival.
Building on an electrifying 2015, Barnett will mark the record's 40th anniversary with a one off show at Melbourne Town Hall, a performance which festival organisers have already talked up as "both hypnotic and exhilarating."

Barnett won't be alone either - she'll also be joined by Jen Cloher, Magic Dirt's Adalita and Gareth Liddiard of The Drones as part of her newly assembled band. Laura Marling, The Field and The Fall will also play the Melbourne festival, taking place from 8 to 25 October.
Speaking to Gigwise about how her music is perceived, Barnett said: "I see lots of the key words that pop up in things and people always say 'quirky' or 'funny' and stuff like that, but I think a lot of my stuff is really dark - not in a dark-dark way but black humour, sarcastic."
Courtney Barnett plays Wales' Green Man Festival on 23 August. For tickets and more information, visit here.
