If you’ve just been dreaming about it, then wake up this morning to some splendid news. The Coral are returning after a five year hiatus with a brand new album and a UK tour in the new year. Tickets are on sale from 11am here.
Distance Inbetween will be released 4 March - and is said to be heavily krautrock-influenced. The band will be playing shows to support the LP in Newcastle, Leeds, Glasgow, Nottingham, Sheffield, Birmingham Manchester, Oxford and London.
"Before we started making the album we had discussed that we wanted it to be more minimal and rhythmical,”" says frontman James Skelly. "“We thought ‘if you've got a rhythm section that’s been playing together for almost twenty years, why not make that the centre of the songs?’"
The Coral started out in 1996 in Hoylake on the Wirral Peninsula, the band first emerging during the early 2000's and made waves with their debut LP The Coral in 2002 (which was nominated for The Mercury Prize) and sophomore release Magic and Medicine in 2003.
