Is the Jon Hopkins remix better than the original? | |

Hell Yeah | |
No |
Jon Hopkins has returned with a belter of a remix. The Kingston-Upon-Thames wunderkind has found Disclosure and Lorde's 'Magnets', taken from the Reigate duo's latest album Caracal, and created a vast landscape of sounds, sights and thoughts.
Most known for his work with Coldplay, the British producer's latest album scored a Mercury Award nomination, and it's clear to see here why. The remix itself sounds like it would suit the score of a Paul Verhoeven sci-fi flick or a Blade Runner-esque movie.
Creating a mashup of electronica meets banghra beats, the British producer has revitalised the track and taken it far into the future. Lorde, however, seems vastly missing on the song, as Hopkins has seemed to merely sample exerpts of her vocals.

Disclosure, whose second No.1 album Caracal features a wide selection of upcoming and fresh artists, such as Kwabs, Gregory Porter, LION Babe and Nao, also features the likes of multiple Grammy award-winning Sam Smith, is still firmly rooted in the Top 100 UK charts.
