Remember when you couldn't so much as leave your house, turn on the TV or be conscious without being inundated with Emeli Sande's music? Well, she's coming back with a second album, so brace yourselves for round two.
Look up the word 'ubiquitous' in the dictionary, and you'll probably be met with, "Emeli Sande between 2012 and early 2014." The singer's debut album, Our Version Of Events, spent seven weeks at No.1 and became the best-selling album of 2012. She also opened and closed the London Olympics, and then in 2013, won Best British Female Artist and British Album Of The Year at the BRITs. The album was then the best-selling album of 2013, despite being released over a year earlier.
Now she's working on a follow-up to Our Version Of Events, and though the hype doesn't quite rival the one that built up in the four years after Adele's 21, it's still gone down pretty damn well with her fans.
In fact, the album was originally supposed to come out at the end of last year according to Naughty Boy, but was postponed because of Adele's comeback. "They can't go against each other," he opined. "Labels have cleared their schedules because they know it's going to wipe the floor."
Emeli Sande's currently untitled second album is set for release at some point this year.
