Sarah Palin has sent Adele a handwritten ‘Hello’, after the ‘Skyfall’ singer (jokingly) credited the Republican politician for the success of her career.

Posted on Palin's Facebook, the pun-filled message featured lines such as, “Rumor Has It you recently threw me some credit”, “very kind coming from Someone Like you” and “keep strong Fire To The Rain”.

In an interview with BBC One, Adele said that the former Alaska Governor inadvertently contributed to the success of 21. Both had appeared together on SNL, making it one of the most watched episodes in the show’s history.

"It was one of the most watched SNLs ever and then it was two weeks before the Grammy ballot, which is when people decide what songs they want to maybe nominate, so, like, literally the stars aligned for me”, Adele said, “The album shot to number one on iTunes andI was nominated for a Grammy and then I won one! It was a joke! It was a joke. All thanks to Sarah Palin!"

Adele’s 25 has recently broken the American record for first week sales, selling 3.38 million copies in the US within its first week. The album was also the first to surpass 3 million sales in the first week.
