Diplo: the man responsible for some of 2015’s biggest songs, including ‘Lean On’ and ‘Where Are U Now” with Justin Bieber, is now this year’s most popular artist on music discovery app Shazam. This news rounds off a pretty sweet year for the American producer, who also bagged three Grammy nominations.
Statistics published reveal that the EDM star has amassed more than 40 million searches Shazam – thanks to his work on a host of musical projects.
‘Lean On’, the Major Lazer summer smash, racked up a whopping 27 million hits on the handy app, while Jack U’s ‘Where Are U Now’ received 9.6 million Shazams. Diplo’s solo effort, ‘Be Right There’, contributed to the whopping total – adding another 4.6 million searches.
