Google has released its annual Year in Search results for 2015, showing everything that we've been searching for in the Google search box, Google News and on YouTube. Unsurprisingly, Adele is top of the pile for Trending Hits and Trending Music Acts, given that she smashed several records this year on the back of her lead single, 'Hello', and hit album, 25. She even bagged the fourth spot for Trending Female Celebrities.

Mark Ronson's chart-topping 'Uptown Funk', which featured Bruno Mars, was second in the Trending Hits category, followed in the third, fourth and fifth spots respectively by Hozier's 'Take Me To Church', Wiz Khalifa's 'See You Again' and a Star Wars parody of Megan Trainor's 'All About That Bass' (renamed 'All About The Base', obviously).

The biggest Trending Music Acts were Adele, Madonna, Rita Ora, Lil' Chris and Sia, while the only musicians in the top five Trending Female Celebrities were Cilla Black, who understandably occupied the number one spot after she passed away in August this year, and Adele, who was fourth.

This is the 15th time Google has presented its data on the biggest trends of the year, giving everyone an insight into the most searched terms of 2015. Check out the all of the interactive goodies Google's News Lab team have created here.
