Kanye West just wouldn't be Kanye West if he wasn't pissing people off a little bit. So it doesn't seem a particularly far fetched idea that he's reportedly planning a David Bowie tribute album.
Really, West should be concentrating on his much-delayed new album, Swish (formerly known as So Help Me God) - the follow-up to his critically acclaimed sixth album Yeezus.
Instead, according to The Daily Star, he's been getting in the studio to record his own versions of Bowie's greatest hits, including 'Changes', 'Heroes' and 'Rebel, Rebel'.
The newspaper quotes a source as saying, "Some are straightforward cover versions with Kanye actually singing. On others he is rapping with his own lyrics over Bowie's music."
The report also claims - and this is really going to get people's goat - that "Kanye sees himself as a successor to Bowie in terms of musical innovation."
This month so far has seen Kanye West announce the release of his long-awaited new album Swish for 11 February, after bringing back G.O.O.D. Fridays in which he drops a new track every week.
Today, a few days late, he dropped his Kendrick Lamar collaboration 'No More Parties In LA'.
