Guns N' Roses have announced plans to play the London Stadium and Dublin Slane Castle as part of their 19-date European tour.
For years Guns N' Roses looked a shell of their former selves when Slash and Duff McKagan absent from the band. Now with the majority of the classic line-up back, they've reveived high priase on the record breaking American tour and also played some stunning gigs across South America. The revitalised band are finally coming to Europe.
To get the chance to hear songs from albums as perfects as Appetite For Destruction and Use Your Illusion II in all their former glory with Slash and Duff is something few ever thought possible - the rift between Slash and Rose was so strong. Axl said to Billboard in 2009: "One of the two of us will die before a reunion." But having buried the hatchet, the band are back with what will be the most talked about shows of 2017.
By playing Dublin's Slane Castle next year, the band will be returning to the place that twenty-five years ago was an awesome show with a difficult start. Rose skipped a sound check, and arrived late on stage by helicopter. While they waited, the rest of the band were sent a crate of Irish whiskey and a barrel of Guinness by U2.
Despite the nervous start, castle owner Lord Henry praised to as "a magic show. It kicked off the 90s."
Meanwhile, the band will play at West Ham's new football stadium, The London Stadium which has significantly less historical value.
The band's tour diary has a gap on the same days Glastonbury is on indicating the band could be confirmed to join Radiohead as headliners any time soon. What a line-up that would be.
Axl Rose, Slash, Duff McKagan and Dizzy Reed are now back on the road with G N' R, however Izzy Stradlin is not on board and former touring member Chris Pitman has slammed the reunion as a 'money grab'.
