The nominations for the 2016 Oscars are in, with the likes of The Weeknd, Sam Smith, Lady Gaga and more among the music nominees.
While Bridge Of Spies, The Revenant, The Martian and Brooklyn are all up for the big prize of Best Picture at the 88th Academy Awards - but musicians among those tipped include some pretty big names.
The acclaimed Amy Winehouse biopic AMY (read our review and interview with the creators) is up for Best Documentary feature alongside Nina Simone epic What Happened, Miss Simone? (check out our review).
Meanwhile, the nominees for Best Original Score are Ennio Morricone's The Hateful Eight Carter Burwell, Carol Jóhann's Jóhannsson, Sicario John Williams' work on Star Wars The Force Awakens and Thomas Newman's score for Bridge of Spies.
The nominees for Best Original Song are The Weeknd's 'Earned It' from Fifty Shades of Grey, J. Ralph and Antony's 'Manta Ray' from Racing Extinction, Sam Smith 'Writing's on the Wall' from Spectre, Lady Gaga's 'Til it Happens to You' from The Hunting Ground and David Lang 'Simple Song #3' from Youth.
Let's hope Sam Smith can get through the ceremony without dissing Radiohead this time...
