Pink Floyd's David Gilmour is set to return to Pompeii 45 years after the band recorded their iconic concert film there.
Back in 1971, Pink Floyd performed at the ancient Roman ampitheatre in Pompeii, Italy - playing to an entirely empty stadium. The resulting footage has since become one of the most famous concert films of all time, inspiring the likes of Radiohead, Korn and The Beastie Boys.
In July, David Gilmour will return to Pompeii for the first time in 45 years, when he'll play two concerts at the same ampitheatre in support of his 2015 solo album, Rattle That Lock.
The concerts were announced by the Pompeii Culture Minister Dario Francheschini, and will take place on 7 and 8 July.
Meanwhile, David Gilmour plays at the Royal Albert Hall for Teenage Cancer Trust in April, as well as four shows at the same venue in September. See full dates below. Get tickets and more information here.
