Azealia Banks has written an open letter of apology to former Alaska governor and presidential candidate Sarah Palin, for suggesting she should be 'gang raped by black men and locked in a cupboard'.
The '212' rapped launched into the furious tirade on Twitter, reportedly in response to Palin's comments on Newslo in which she said: "I'm telling you, I've been saying it for years, but nobody's listening – slavery wasn't forced onto African-Americans, they accepted it willingly."
In a string of now deleted Tweets, the Broke With Expensive Taste rapper retaliated:
"Sarah Palin needs to have her hair shaved off to a buzz cut, get headfucked by a big, veiny, ashy, black dick then be locked in a cupboard...Hideous. At least suck a nigga dick or something before you start talking shit about 'black people willingly accepting slavery.' Least she can do."
Palin was less than impressed, responding on Facebook:
Hey Female Rapper - listen up, little darling. No one has any idea what you're wigging out about in these bizarre,...

Now, Banks has kind-of apologised on Tumblr.
"Dear Sarah Palin," she wrote, "I hope this message reaches you in good spirits and in good health. I want to start this letter off by telling you that I actually, really like you.
"While many other American people may see you as someone to be ridiculed, I truly believe that you possess a certain 'je ne sais quoi'."
"There is something very charismatic and misunderstood about you. The misunderstood bit oftentimes reminds me of myself.
Banks continued: "You're very passionate about the things you believe in, super determined, and most certainly aware of who you are and where you stand in this world, as a parent, as a politician, but most importantly, as a woman."
Speaking about the false quote on slavery, Banks added: "Now since learning that the article was not published officially, I sincerely apologize for any emotional distress or reputational scarring i may have caused you. In my honest defense, i was completely kidding."
In the P.S. section, she added: ""I am an EXTREMELY intelligent woman, Mrs. Palin. 'Hey Female Rapper,' was your way to euphemize what you REALLY wanted to say. What you wanted to say was, 'Hey little Stereotypical Black, Thing!'
"If Bristol Palin listened to my music she probably wouldn't have all those cotdamn kids!!!!"
We daresay it won't be long until the outspoken Banks makes headlines again. Some of her most recent escapades have also seen her hit out against Australians, Miley Cyrus and a flight attendant.
