Crystal Castles have announced details of their first new album without singer Alice Glass.
Glass left the band in 2014, and her departure was not an entirely amicable one. When former bandmate Ethan Kath suggested that she “didn’t appear on Crystal Castles’ best known songs” and that “people often gave her credit for my lyrics,” Glass hit back, “For the record, I wrote almost all of the lyrics in my former band and the vast majority of the vocal melodies,” calling Kath’s comments “manipulative.”
Now though, Crystal Castles are attempting to put all that behind them, with Amnesty (I) set for release next month (19 August). It’ll include previously released tracks ‘Char’, ‘Concrete’ and ‘Femen’, recorded with new vocalist Edith Frances.
