Kasabian have just announced via Twitter the first of many more shows to come in 2017. The 'Fire' hitmakers will play three shows in Italy for which tickets go on sale at 9am tomorrow.
But news of more shows closer to home should trickle in over the coming weeks as the Leicester band are currently working on the follow up to 2014's 48:13 and will hopefully release it in 2017.
The next time they play undoubtedly will be a special chance to hear all the new stuff they've been working on. The band continue to prove they have the longevity to become one of the defining indie bands of the 21st century.
In terms of where the band are likely to play in 2017, Reading & Leeds seems fairly certain. They are listed on efestivals website as 'TBC' which historically means there's a very high chance and it's a good indicator they are playing.
Pleased to announce dates in Italy for July '17. Tickets on sale tomorrow 9am GMT via this link: https://t.co/7HmNs0jm5W pic.twitter.com/hMvkg4OhDH

Their new material sounds more than suitable for Reading & Leeds, too. In an interview with NME Serge Pizzorno said it's a journey back "to thier guitar roots" and that it's "nothing like 48:13." Gigwise called parts of 48:13 "A terrifying rush of baggy dark electro" so more guitar-y stuff would certainly be a change.
The band made incredible steps forward in their career during the campaign for their fifth album in 2014 as they headlined Glastonbury and affirmed themselves as one of the most loved live bands in the country.
Most recently they celebrated the freak Leicester City Premiere league win with a massive homecoming gig at King Power Stadium. The next chapter should be just as epic.
Below are the Kasabian live dates for 2017 so far.
19 July Luglio Taormina
21 July Luglio Roma
24 July Luglio Lucca
