David Bowie will become only the third musician ever to be honoured with his own set of tribute stamps from the Royal Mail.

The ten stamps, on sale from March 14, will feature artwork from six of Bowie’s albums, plus four live shots.

The album sleeves are ‘Hunky Dory’, ‘Aladdin Sane’, ‘”Heroes”’, ‘Let’s Dance’, ‘Earthling’ and ‘Blackstar’, while the live shots similarly straddle Bowie’s career. They are taken from the Ziggy Stardust Tour of 1972, The Stage Tour in 1978, the Serious Moonlight Tour of 1983 and the A Reality tour from 2004.

Only Pink Floyd and The Beatles have been granted the honour of a full set of stamps, and Royal Mail’s Philip Parker pointed to Bowie’s enduring influence as the reason for the Thin White Duke receiving a similar tribute. “For five decades David Bowie was at the forefront of contemporary culture, and has influenced successive generations of musicians, artists, designers and writers,” he said in a statement. “Royal Mail’s stamp issue celebrates this unique figure and some of his many celebrated personas.”

The stamps can be pre-ordered now from the Royal Mail website.

Bowie will also be honoured for a second time at the Brit Awards in February, following Lorde’s rendition of ‘Life On Mars’ at the 2016 ceremony. His final recordings ‘No Plan’, ‘Killing A Little Time’ and ‘When I Met You’ were released as part of an EP called ‘No Plan’, coinciding with what would have ben his 70th birthday earlier this month.
