Billy Bragg has uploaded a video of himself performing an anti-Trump song to to the tune of 'The Times The Are Changing' by Bob Dylan. Check it out on Gigwise below.
Sung in a sullen way that emphasises his genuine distress at the reality that Trump is in the process of pushing his policies that divide people by race, religion, and nationality with seemingly instant effect.
Today (25 January) it was reported in the BBC that Trump signed an executive order to build a wall along the border of Mexico with construction to "start immediately"
It's also a day that they prepared executive orders to reduce their role in multilateral treaties that are not “directly related to national security, extradition or international trade." The Independent reported this would likely include treaties on climate change.
And there is also a refugee policy under consideration that, as reported in The New York Times "would halt admissions from Syria and suspend it from other majority-Muslim nations until the administration can study how to properly vet them."
Bragg's song comprehensively makes people think about all areas of Trump's drastic impact on America.
He takes special aim at his climate scepticism, his views on women, and especially hones in on how decades of progressive politics - spurred on by the civil rights movement - that have tempted to bring communities closer together, are being eroded by an administrations divisive politics.
This is something that Rage Against The Machines Tim Commerford puts eloquently: "We all live on the same planet we all are earthlings we should be together, united and not separated more and more every day. The more that happens the more negative the world is going to be," he told Gigwise.
