Joining the likes Rag’n’Bone Man, Slaves, The Magic Gang, Stefflon Don and Marika Hackman at The Great Escape in Brighton are 125 + new names

The multi-venue seaside town centre festival has some tasteful picks in this latest announcement. Notably, Childhood are making a comeback after a couple of years spent recording their album. Their second album is set to take the music world by storm and here is an opportunity to see them in a relatively intimate festival.

Heavenly Records signees Confidence Man are certainly able to get the part started with their baggy grooves and sassy vocals. Of the signing Barrett said: "It was a simple case of love at first listen/ Like hearing ‘Groove Is In The Heart’ for the first time. It was a joy of joys to discover that even after all these years I could still feel intoxicated after hearing a pop song”."

Isaac Gracie is a Jay-Z endorsed singer/songwriter with parallels to Jeff Buckley's sound. His song 'Last Words' is one of the most neatly crafted melancholic acoustic numbers in some time and has that brittle quality that Eddie Vedder's Into The Wild soundtrack.

Elsewhere, Paris Youth Foundation have been heavily tipped by many industry insiders and they have Radio 1 day time anthems oozing out of them. Expect big things for them by 2018 comes around.

Lastly, Alex Cameron, who made it into Gigwise's albums of the year 2016. He has incredible dark, funny, yet poetic lyrics. He narrates his way through stories with a Nick Cave-like baritone, all over an electronic cold wave inspired synth backdrop. How could you miss that?
