Fleet Foxes have announced the release of their long-awaited and highly-anticipated third album, Crack-Up.
Crack-Up comes six years after the 2011 release of Helplessness Blues and nearly a decade since the band’s 2008 self-titled debut.
The band have Third of May / Ōdaigahara’, a nearly nine-minute epic powered by piano and electric twelve-string guitar, string quartet, and the group's trademark sparkling harmonies. It's everything you could want from a Fleet Foxes tune and more. Check it out below
The beautiful track above, like the rest of the album was written by Robin Pecknold. The album was co-produced by Pecknold and Skyler Skjelset, his longtime bandmate, collaborator, and childhood friend. The pair evidently have special musical chemistry.
Fleet Foxes teased their comeback on their Facebook page at the end of last year by posting a photograph of a volcano with a comment underneath saying the album was nearly done. Of course the internet erupted with joy and today the wait is over as they're properly back
Elsewhere, Fleet Foxes will make their first UK festival appearance in five years at Latitude festival - it's sure to melt some hearts this summer.
Furthermore, the band have expanded their world tour and included their first US shows since 2011. Check them out below and find tickets to Latitude here.
