The Who’s Pete Townshend has called Pete Doherty “the ultimate rock n’ roll fuckwit” and “nihilist.”

The 60 year old was speaking yesterday (March 8) the day after Pete was charged with seven counts of drugs possession.

He said: “Pete Doherty is the ultimate rock n’ roll nihilist, the ultimate rock n’ roll fuckwit.

“It is important we acknowledge that this business loves to kill people.”

Moving on to Kate Moss’ drug problems also, Townshend expressed little sympathy for the pair saying that they could stop their drugs problem if they wanted.

He continued to The Star: “I certainly had my own problems for a long time, but I dealt with them. And to be honest it’s very easy to deal with addiction.

“They could solve their problems in a heartbeat if they genuinely wanted to.”
