Flying Lotus has snuck out a brand new track called ‘Quarantine’. The song appears on a brand new mix from his label, Brainfeeder, and has been mixed by PBDY. According to the Soundcloud description that accompanies the mix, 'Quarantine' is “a glimpse of what’s to come in 2018.”
The 22-piece mix also features a couple of numbers from Locust Toybox (‘Kuxir’ and ‘Godlips’) as well as a pair of Thundercat remixes. The bassmonster sees his ‘Bus In These Streets’ overhauled by DJ Manny while ‘Drink Dat Drink’ feat. Wiz Khalifa gets the remix treatment from Chopnotslop.
As yet, it remains unknown if 'Quarnatine' is to be featured on FlyLo’s forthcoming album or whether it’s a standalone track. It’s now been just over three years since the release of his last album, You’re Dead! Back in November, he declared, “Flying Lotus is currently finishing his next studio album on Warp.”
Characterised by languid beats, strings that verge on a sense of menace and notes that drip like water, FlyLo's return is a tantalising glimpse of what could come next from this colossal talent.
