The Academic are today (5 May) sharing brand new single ‘Anything Could Happen’.

The influence of Gary Numan on this one is obvious, with the band taking a heavy draw from his synth pop style. The song is suitably celebratory and naturally buoyant with a strong sense of optimism. It is a warm offering of indie pop that will surely find resonance within its gaze towards the future. Listen below:

The new track is an important milestone for the Irish indie band, who after a debut album in 2018 will surely be thinking about the follow up. With a huge following in Ireland (their aforementioned debut topped the album charts there) the band have been steadily rising in influence throughout the UK and have a show at London’s Electric Ballroom to look forward to.

‘Anything Could Happen’ is out now.
