A new great band coming out of Liverpool have our attention with their new single 'David Byrne's Badside'. It's a jocular, acerbic post-punk track about the racism that persists in the UK.

Fuck UKIP, Courting say with their new track, which spearheads the kind of gammon that insist racism doesn't exist in the UK...

Jangling guitars we've come to associate with a certain school of South London bands carries the Joe Strummer-adjacent vocals of frontman Sean Murphy-O'Neil towards a smart sax solo.

Hear it:

On the track, Murphy O'Neil says: “David Byrne’s Badside has nothing to do with the Talking Heads frontman. It’s about class tourism and the casual racism that exists in Britain today.

"At the same time, we’re referencing and poking fun at more lighthearted aspects of British culture, like the collective rage when somebody takes the low offer on The Chase, and Twitter spats about Blur and Oasis" he adds.

Courting have supported Sports Team, FEET and Heavy Lungs on tour.
