More about:

Travis are back and teasing a brand new album. 'A Ghost' is the second taste of 10 Songs, which will be the Scottish band's ninth studio album - the first since 2016's Everything At Once. 'A Ghost' arrives today with a magical illustrated video.

Phantom acoustic guitar eggs the soft rock anthem onwards, the vocals of Fran Healy bouncing along a barnstomping crescendo of keys and creeping bass. Sounding like a rock tour of a haunted fun house, Travis toss the listener about on the waltzer of their songwriting.

The accompanying video is quite the journey too. Illustrated by Healy himself and animated by his son Clay, the whole thing was created, and the final scene filmed, whilst observing social distancing measures. See it:

"It was the most bizarre video shoot I have ever worked on," Healy said in a press note which reveals that it took 30 days for the frontman to draw each frame of the illustrated section of the video, "you realise how important proximity is to getting things done when it's taken out of the equation."

10 Songs will also feature recent single 'Kissing In The Wind', alongside 'A Ghost' and eight other original compositions. Grandaddy's Jason Lytle plays synth on the record, and there's also a star turn from The Bangles' Susanna Hoffs.
