Dublin rap artist Cami has released new single ‘Inside Out’ and has also announced the release of a debut EP titled Genesis, due on 2 October via Permanent Creeps Records. Working with producer LEEM, ‘Inside Out’ features Cami’s fluid flow and poetic lyrics against a backdrop of experimental and complex beats. The track is raw in its production as well as lyricism.

The Genesis EP focuses on mental health issues such as depression and anxiety but also touches on identity and redemption. Speaking about the track, Cami says, “‘Inside Out’ was inspired by my final year of Uni. I was feeling lost, uncertain and in a deep depression with a lot of suicide ideation, it felt like no one noticed or no one could see how much I was struggling. I was ashamed that I wasn’t able to cope like everyone else.” Listen below:

Cami continues, “I wished I would've talked to someone or asked for help. The one constant I had at the time was Liam sending me beats regularly and that gave me a chance to reflect and just work through the emotions. speaking the words out loud to remove the shame element.”

Genesis is released on 2 October via Permanent Creeps.
