Once available only on the Japanese CD edition of recent album Cavalcade, black midi have today given 'Cruising' its own release. Landing as a single, it comes in the slipstream of yet another extremely successful year for the band.

Slower in pace, 'Cruising' is six-and-a-half-minutes of dissonant, building spookiness made intriguing, as ever, by the musicianship of this reclusive, intriguing band.

Featuring on our Best Albums of 2021 So Far list, we said of Cavalcade: "If you ever come across one of those people – and we all do on a regular basis – who argues that modern music is suffering from arrested development, merely recycling the past, and that nothing genuinely new exists, then simply slap on a copy of black midi’s second album Cavalcade and watch them humbly eat their words".
