More about:

It’s a winning year for Little Simz. Only months after winning best new act at the BRIT awards, Little Simz has bagged the Mercury Prize for Sometimes I Might Be Introvert.

As a stand out album of 2021, Sometimes I Might Be Introvert gained 9 stars from us and was voted number 8 in our albums of the year. Reviewing the album, Adam England wrote; “On Sometimes I Might Be Introvert Simz continues to operate at the highest echelons of British rap.”

Unlike some of the breakout artists nominated this year, Little Simz has been grinding away for years. As Adam put it; “Simz might not have exploded at 18 with a host of radio-friendly bangers like some of her contemporaries, but she’s worked bloody hard over the years and it’s very much paying off.”

And bagging one of the biggest accolades in UK music, the work has paid off here in a very, very deserving win.
