More about: Szou
Feeling a bit down today? Woke up in a funk? There’s a reason for that as today, January 16th, is officially the most depressing day of the year. Blue monday is here, but Szou has a solution. Singing “sitting in january waiting for july”, the electro alt-pop artist has dropped ‘July’ to shake the cobwebs off.
Pairing classic HAIM-esque indie guitars with 80s influenced synth elements, the track is produced by another major one to watch, Lleo. Coming together to create a track uplifting from the base beats to the lyrics, it’s like serotonin in a song.
Funded by the Youth Music Next Gen grant, Szou has some backing in high places as she’s making the rounds of the most beloved venues on the London new music scene. And with ‘July’, it’s clear the production is being elevated, the lyrics are coming to inspire and she’s locked in for a big year.
