More about: Rolla
The new single ‘HEY YOU’ by ROLLA is one of the most energetic and full displays of indie rock n roll on offer today. The track starts with a simple bassline and powerful, emphasised vocals before being skyrocketed into a flurry of electric guitars, drums and all-around power.
Described by Louder Than War as “the next big thing to blast the indie scene,” Rolla are cementing themselves as ones to watch in modern music. Their sound comes with an individuality which is true to where they’re from. It’s rock music on the surface but laced with layers of the psychedelic. The new single has already been chosen as the record of the week at XS Manchester and has been played on Radio X.
The home town nature of the tune plus the psychedelic and rock infused production are well reflected in the new music video, which shows flashing images of the band back home paired with old videos of raves and gigs. It’s a collage of bad dance moves, sweaty nights out and the Manchester country side.
“The video for our new single ‘Hey You’, is a nostalgic nod to the Manchester rave scene,” said the band, “we wanted to capture all the energy and enjoyment that happened at those events as it’s the kind of energy we want at our shows – loads of dancing, loads of bright lights and everyone having a top time. Get it blasting through your TV before a night out or at an after party with all the lights out and let the video be the party!”
The video comes out ahead of a string of live shows the band are doing where they will try to emulate the parties they pay homage to. They’ll be heading out to London, Birmingham and Manchester in April before taking to Bridlington Spa in August for This Feeling By The Sea.
