Former Ramones drummer Richard Reinhardt has launched a federal lawsuit claiming nearly $1 million in unpaid download royalties.

'Richie Ramone' is taking on the big guns of Wal-Mart, Apple Inc and RealNetworks, not to mention the band's management and Johnny Ramone's estate over six songs he wrote whilst in the legendary punk-pop rockers.

Reinhardt claims he never gave permission for the songs - written during his stint in the band between 1983 and 1987 - to be downloaded, and is seeking $900,000 and an injunction preventing further use of the tracks.
