Manic Street Preachers' James Dean Bradfield is prepared to "shred any credibility we have left" with the band's Christmas single.
As previously reported the three-piece are in the process of writing their first ever Christmas single, and the frontman says the band are finally ready to show off their fluffy side after more than a decade of rallying against the inherent emptiness of Western culture by getting their sleigh bells out.
He says, "I think people take music too seriously. We are cross that Radio 1 don't play us. But we'll do a Christmas single to completely shred any possible credibility we have left.
"A Christmas single is a creative institution. But we haven't quite decided which way we will go with our attempt for the Christmas No. 1 just yet."
