Hadouken! played their biggest headline show to date last night at London’s Astoria.

Supported by Late of the Pier and The Whip, the band tore through a 45 minute set in front of a completely sold-out crowd.

The band were greeted with a sea of high pitched screams and glowsticks as they entered the stage, before they treated fans to a mix of favourites and newer tracks lifted from their debut album – expected in early 2008.

An early airing of previous single ‘Liquid Lives’ saw the predominately under 18’s audience really spark into life, while ‘Love, Sweat and Beer’ and the ultimate ‘That Boy That Girl.’

At one point, frontman James told the crowd that the venue holds special memories: “It’s amazing to be playing the Astoria. I used to come here for gigs from when I was 15. Me and Alice had our first date here.”

The biggest reaction of the night came from future single ‘Leap of Faith’, which saw the band waver towards a more rock infused sound.
