Ida Maria is set to take a break after her Glastonbury performances, to stop her becoming the new Amy Winehouse.
Following her Other Stage set yesterday, the singer was busy checking out other bands. “I really wish I could see Buddy Guy and Leonard Cohen,” she said. “I love all the old guys.”
Amy Winehouse takes to the Pyramid Stage later this evening, but Ida is unimpressed with her attitude. “I’m not doing an Amy Winehouse, I just think that’s really childish.
“Doing a couple of bottles of wine every day, it’s mental. At Glastonbury go for it, but I can’t do it 24 hours a day on tour. I have to choose, do I want to die with a bottle in my hand or not?”
Instead, she is off back to Norway for some family home improvements. “I’m off to Norway to build a garage with my dad. Back home, you can’t even buy alcohol, but I want a break, I really need one.”
Gigwise has all the latest from Glastonbury so keep checking back.
