Enter Shikari were forced to cancel their gig at Blackpool's Empress Ballroom on Saturday after parts of the venue's ceiling collapsed.
Cracks began appearing in the Grade II listed building's ceiling during the band's soundcheck.
A source told Gigwise that chunks of plaster were seen falling onto the auditorium's floor, leaving “no possibility that the show could risk going ahead”.
Many of the 1,500 sell-out crowd had already arrived at the venue to attend a pre-show event.
But at 7pm they were ushered into a side room, where Enter Shikari apologised for the cancellation in person.
The group then spent 4 hours conducting a meet and greet session with 1,500-strong crowd.
Gigwise photographer Shirlaine Forrest said fans took the show's cancellation “pretty badly at first”.
But, she added, “the upset soon turned to absolute joy as they got pretty darn giddy about meeting Enter Shikari”.
Fans were told on Saturday that the show would be rescheduled and that original tickets would remain valid.
The gig was set to mark the opening night of the UK leg of Enter Shikari's European tour.
