Gorillaz co-creator Jamie Hewlett has confirmed the cartoon band are to return.
The comic book artist revealed the news in a series of Instagram posts featuring brand new sketches of band members, Murdoc and Noodles.
A fan commented on one of the photos asking if this meant a reunion was on the cards, to which Hewlett responded: "Yes Gorillaz Returns."
Co-founder and singer, Damon Albarn alluded to this news late last year, telling the Sydney Morning Herald he would be getting the virtual band back together for a 2016 release. If so, a new LP would be Gorillaz' first since 2011's 'The Fall'.
