The Cribs have revealed further details on Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl visiting them in their studio in New York while working on their new album.

As previously reported, the band were photographed with the Foo Fighters frontman in The Magic Shop studio back in October. Gary Jarman told the NME: "We left to go get pizza and within three minutes we returned with Dave Grohl. We played with him in Ireland and he was like, 'The Cribs? I love you guys!' We thought it was a really good omen for the first day of the record - it was just like a rabbit's foot or something."

When the band first posted their picture of Grohl, a few hours later they had to take to social media to clarify that he wasn't actually playing on the record. "By the way - Dave G just called into studio to say hi, we aren't working together! Just a hang with an awesome dude."

The Cribs new album For All My Sisters is out on 23 March. The band wrote on Facebook:

"Wow - seems like so long since we last spoke. Did you miss us? Cos we missed you....and we've got a LOT of things to tell you about, so hope you're sitting comfortably. First things first - OUR NEW ALBUM 'FOR ALL MY SISTERS' WILL BE RELEASED ON THE 23rd OF MARCH THROUGH SONY RED."

"I can't believe it's been nearly 3 years since "Brazen Bull", but we have been working really hard behind the scenes, and we honestly think this is our best record so far. Easily. I know we always say that, but we're all really excited about this one. We made it in NYC with Ric Ocasek (Weezer, Guided by Voices) producing. He's someone that we have always wanted to work with, and man he really got the best out of us. But don't just take our word for it, you can hear the first cut from the album,"An Ivory Hand" right now! A big fuzzy pop song that you can stream here."

The band will also be releasing The "Cribsmas 2" live DVD, which will be titeld Two Nights Down The Old Town & Country. Filmed at Leeds Academy in December 2013 it features 28 live songs performed over two nights.

The new album will also be packed as a deluxe CD with the DVD and packaged as a special edition in a 28-page hardback case bound book.
