A South Korean production duo have said there are “similarities” between Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way' and a song they wrote for a Korean girl band.

Fans have been debating online for several weeks about the apparent similarities between SNSD's 2010 song 'Be Happy' and Lady Gaga's single, which was released in February this year.

One half of E-Tribe told local news agency Newsen that they listened to 'Born This Way' after reading reports about its likeness to 'Be Happy'.

“I listened, and I do feel that there are similarities,” he said. “The way the song flows and the arrangements are, honestly, the same.”

The unnamed producer said they planned to taken the matter further with Lady Gaga's publishing company.

SNSD are a nine-member South Korean girl group and are known locally as Girls' Generation.

Lady Gaga has already faced claims that the song, taken from her new album of the same name, is similar to Madonna's hit, 'Express Yourself'.
