Adele has said she has imposed a boyfriend ban' after cancelling her recent UK tour dates.

The London singer, who was recently forced to cancel dates on her UK tour due to illness, said she can't afford to be 'distracted' by a boyfriend.

In an interview with Vogue magazine, Adele said: ‘'I get distracted when I’ve got someone in my life, which I can’t afford to do right now. Besides, no one treats me as well as I do.''

She added: ''If we broke up and I wrote a song, it’d be obvious who I was singing about.''

Adele cancelled the remaining dates of her US tour earlier this year after contracting laryngitis.

Meanwhile, Adele, Tinie Tempah and Elbow will perform at tonight's Mercury Prize ceremony, which will be aired on BBC Two from 8pm.
