Indie prince Darwin Deez has revealed that his appearance at Glastonbury 2011 wasn't the brilliant experience you might expect.
The New York minimal pop rocker appeared on the John Peel stage during the 2011 festival, and his performance recieved hugely positive reviews for his interaction with the audience and quirky dancing. However, the star has revealed it wasn't his choice to perform.
"To be honest, I wasn't in the mood for that show, not at all," he tells Gigwise. "I don't think anyone knew because the show went on, you know?"
"We did the show and it was only abut 30 minutes that we played.
"I really didn't want to do it."
But that's not to say that Darwin isn't enamoured with the festival, and he says he'd be eager to play the festival again.
"I'd definitely go back. I'd play it every year if I had the chance," he added. "I hate to do things I have to do, and that Glastonbury performance felt very much like a show that I was being told I had to do."
Deez, who will release his second album Songs For Imaginative People next month, said he felt like the show was out of his control, leading to his discomfort about performing.
"I just felt kind of disempowered. I felt like I wasn't playing it because I wanted to, I was doing it because there was a person telling me I had to do it.
"It felt a bit like going through the motions, but that's all part of it, you know? Somedays you feel like that, and that's just how I was feeling that day.
"The good thing is that I don't think anyone had the slightest idea, people never really get that impression."

He continued: "Afterwards people are telling you how good it all was, people don't have a clue about how you're feeling because there's so much going on that it doesn't matter.
"I'd definitely want to play it again."
