The Boards Of Canada fan who was hoping to fetch $5000 for his rare teaser vinyl has put the record back on eBay after the original buyer failed to cough up.
The -- / -- / --/ XXXXXX / -- / -- 12-inch, which only runs for a matter of seconds and features static and noise along with some of the digits for the treasure hunt code that led to the news of a new album, is now on eBay as a Buy It Now item on offer for $5700.
The seller, who admits there's a "tiny, tiny dent" in the corner of the sleeve, is also accepting Best Offer purchases but has rejected the ten offers made so far.
When the item was originally posted the seller explained that as much as the record was dear to him, he needed money as he was about to graduate college.
The Record Store Day release revealed the first code that sparked a hunt for the digits to fill in the remain chunks of code, some found on similar vinyls, others unveiled by radio presenters and some found by doing some very complicated things with slightly altered images on BoC message boards.
The seller admits the sleeve is slightly damaged
The result was news of an eagerly awaited fourth LP from the Scottish electronic outfit, Tomorrow's Harvest, which is due June 10.
While the teaser album is a unique piece of BoC memorabilia, upwards for five grand might be a little ambitous of an asking prices just a matter of weeks after the vinyl surfaced.
