Lupe Fiasco has stormed off stage after an audience member (rather old-fashionedly) threw a tomato at him. See a video of the incident below.
The Chicago rapper was performing tracks from his forthcoming album Tetsuo Youth at The Depot in Salt Lake City when a member of the crowd hurled the vegetable at him from where she was seated on the balcony.
Needless to say, Fiasco wasn't impressed, and immediately stopped the show, saying: "I’m gonna finish the show, but if there’ more people like that I need them the f**k out of here,” exclaimed Lupe. “I know what she looks like – fat, white b***h. Find her."
The 'Kick, Push' rapper then ordered the audience members on the balcony to leave the area, but after they angrily refused, the venue's security staff were forced to answer to Fiasco's demands and clear the area out themselves. However, Fiasco was clearly in no mood to wait, as he had already stormed off the stage by the time the space was cleared.
Watch the tomato incident below:
Fiasco was instantly criticised online for his diva-esque actions and derogatory comments aimed at the tomato thrower, but he refused to apologise for his behaviour. "I called her a ‘fat white bitch’ because she was a fat white bitch," he re-iterated firmly. Got it.
Fiasco's album Tetsuo and Youth is due to be released in early 2014, and the rapper recently cited Radiohead as an inspiration whilst discussing the forthcoming record with The Salt Lake Tribune - and, regrettably, referred to himself in the dreaded third person. "Radiohead is one of the only bands that make original music," he said. "I can’t say that for anybody else. I can’t say that for Lupe Fiasco."
